In this post, I will be explaining the basics of Ultimate Team trading. This post is designed for beginners / people who have not traded on Ultimate Team ever. If you have some experience, head over to my next post on Road to Mbappe #1, which will discuss some trading/league sbc grinding which I did today.
Trading 101:
Ultimate Team is a confusing game when first starting. You need better players to win more matches, you need coins to buy better players, you appear to only make coins on games or spending Ultimate Team Points, you grind or spend lots of money and at the end of you are left with a very underwhelming team, with a lot of time/money spent.
So how do you do get to those monster teams. Well, the only way (without spending money) is to trade. Trading is done through buying items on the market and selling them for higher (obviously). These items can be anything from players to consumables.
How do you choose players to trade with, well over the next few weeks, you will see trading methods during my guides on Trading, with the first one starting tomorrow. Prior to doing this, I want to give some general pointers / information that will put you in the best position
Tips:
- I recommend having a MINIMUM around 10k coins to trade with. With that you can implement methods and not run out of coins. If you have less than that, you will end up running out of coins when making transactions
- EA (in my opinion) stupidly, tax 5% of sales. This means for example if you buy a card for 1000 coins and list it for 1000 coins, I would only get 950 coins back meaning I made a loss. An easy way to calculate what you get back is to multiply the list price by 0.95. This is not that important at the lower levels (ie if you buy a player for 1k and sell it for 1.1k, its obvious that the amount of money you make is going to be lower). However, if you buy a card for 950k and sell it for 1mil, you actually make 0 coins !!!
- Its important to find your niche. I will not tell you what players to buy, rather I will tell you how to select players and identify markets. Thus, finding a way to make coins differs between people. One method that works for one will not work for another.
- TRY TRY TRY – Its really important to understand that losing coins is not the end of the world. It is important to get an understanding of the market
Generally, these are very basic, but without these you will have no understanding to make coins. The first trading/coin making guide I will be releasing will be Budget Method 1 – Bronze/Silver player trading. This will have a breakdown and examples of trades, why it works, how successful, risk etc.
Again appreciate any feedback, if you do have any direct feedback, requests, questions please feel free to message below or even better email me at sachinwadakar97@gmail.com. Next post will be Road to POTM Mbappe, episode 1, setting out the rules and providing an overview of Sundays grind !!!
